Tirunelveli medical College is a Government medical College situated in the southern district of Tamil Nadu, South India. It is one of the leading medical institutions in South India. The College is affiliated to Madurai University to begin with and is currently affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR medical University. It is recognised by the medical Council of India. The Tirunelveli medical College and its teaching Hospital, is located at Palayamkotti, Tirunelveli. The College was established in the year 1965 and started its first batch of MBBS with 75 Students and has come a long way since then. The College follows its principles of Duty, Dignity and Discipline.

The College and its Hospital is located in the extensive Campus of 228 acres, and houses 1800 graduate, postgraduate and Diploma Students in various medical and paramedical courses from around the Country.
