Hi,

I am very sad to inform you that Uttarakhand government is unsuccessful in implementing a complete ban on the use of plastic bags. The retail and wholesale shopkeepers are seen giving polythene bags to customers in Dehradun, Haldwani, Almora, Haridwar and Tharali (Chamoli) markets. 3:- The people of Uttarakhand do not encourage plastic bags after the government banned it. But, we find plastic bags and polythene all over. 4:-Firstly, there is an absolute lack of political will. The trade of plastic carry bags is a lucrative one and big wigs of both major political parties are supposed to be involved in it. There has to be sufficient political will to prod the district administration to take effective measures. Everyone knows where the plastic carry bags com.
