Marine Corps Air Station Miramar is located in Miramar, San Diego, California. It is 16KM north of Downtown San Diego. The airfield is named after Admiral M.A Mitscher. At NAS Miramar, the Station nicknamed was Fightertown USA.There are many aviation accidents in the Station. In 1959 F3H Demon crashed, after few years F-8 Crusader crashed while returning to NAS Miramar. In 2004, a UC-18C Hornet crashed to the eastern perimeter of the base. After two years, in 2006, an F/A-18C Hornet crashed on the eastern perimeter. On December 2008, four people were killed because two homes were destroyed and three homes were damaged properly by aircraft F/A-18D Hornet.
