I have donated 50 of my 78 years to DI because I respect what you do in training folks and provide items for shoppers. Yesterday, August, 19, 2022, I decided no more donations to DI. Other than the clothing, towels, kitchen towels an other soft goods, my expensive, mostly unused items were THROWN into a large cardboard box. Disgusting. I can ony imagine what my items looked like after a day of items THROWN on top of them. No more, this is the third time this has happened at the Pocatello, Idaho, DI. If my good, resalable items are to be treatesd like that, I will take them to Idaho Youth Ranch or Goodwill. I have seen how respectfull they are with donations. I added my resale value before taking in my eight bags or boxes, $489. 00 resale. Tags on most items. You folks are losing money. This shpuld not happen. I have volunteered at DI sorting, I know you get a lot of "junk", but at least sort it out and use the good items.

I suggest that the DI take a look at Goodwill Industries and implement their policies. I was recently in Phoenix Az and visited a Goodwill store there. Much like the DI but, 1)they have specials on dated items to clear out older items 2)they allow the return of any items that does not work or fit with receipt and tag attached in seven days 3) they give you a goodwill credit card for the amount of the return that can be used within the next six months Much more user friendly than your policies which requires a customer to exchange only (often your selection is poor and they are stuck with an unuseable item).
